The Challenge

Trading communities on Discord need tools for education, market updates, and moderation. Generic bots lack the trading context needed to be useful.

The goal was to build a purpose-built bot that understands trading concepts and can provide relevant assistance to community members.

The Approach

Built iteratively across 12 phases: core commands, database integration, market data, AI chat, moderation, welcome flows, and more.

Each phase was tested in a private server before deploying to the production community.

Technical Details

GPT-4o powers natural language interactions. Custom system prompts provide trading context and ensure helpful responses.

Alpaca API provides real-time market data. Price alerts trigger Discord notifications within seconds.
