No. We use ElevenLabs / Deepgram for natural-sounding voice, and the agent is scripted to acknowledge it's an AI when asked. Most callers either don't notice or appreciate that it's direct and fast.
What happens when it can't handle something?
It hands off — warm transfer to a human, callback request, or message capture. Default behavior is escalation, not pretending to know.
